Silence Before the Plunge

Universe smiled and looked at her as she doubled over. Without moving he waited. "You alright?" He asked blandly. His voice was cold; he didn't care. But if she was right then that was hi m in there. And if he was going to have fun with these powers, he had to make sure he was born right first.

Raven felt hr son grow inside her. He was vey powerful. This was not the first time she had gone through this....She had Razor....But evidently Razor was Universes big sister. Razor was alot more tougher getting out while she was in labor. Raven didn' even see the smile on Universe as she was humped over. She wanted Matt now.....Bu what would happen if Robin found out that this baby was really not his? Matt & Raven hadone special night together. And it was him that took away her vaginity. Not Robin. This is the cost for having sex in a very young age. At least Matt didn't pass her a disease. She had Cyborg check her out afterwards to make sure everything was ok. And sure enough it was. But then after that....she was kidnapped by Ari....and placed under those wires.....

Raven: The babay......He's growing.......Much faster than Razoor did.

Universe tipped his head to the side. "Razor? Who is that?" He asked, confused. "I assume then that I'm not an only child?" He smirked. "But it seems I'm more powerful. Cool." His tone was almost snobbish and he laughed slightly, ignoring Raven's pain as he absorbed himself in his own thoughts.

Raven: She's your....sister....Ugh!!!!

Raven could feel the baby grow faster & faster now......Her stomach was getting larger......
Universe had to cut the trainning short as he rushed her back to the Tower.....Matt stood out side the medical center....A long hard but beautiful thing in the end happened......Matt could hear his son crying within the doors as Sparrow & Cyborg were helping Raven......

Cyborg: Your son is here Raven......

Cyborg gave the baby to Rae...as Robin just smiled.......The baby was perfectly healthy......

Matt stood at the end of the room, beaming at Raven. But his eyes were shadowed and sad as he watched Robin with his son. Scolding himself for the thoughts, Matt forced happiness into his expression and held it.

Universe stood just behind Robin, watching coldly. After a moment he turned to Robin. "Could I?" He asked, receiving baby his from his supposed father. He looked at Raven for a moment and grinned. But it was the wrong sort of grin. "I would say sorry, but I'm really not." He a slight wave of one hand his red power engulfed him and he and child were gone.

The teen reappeared in Ari's layer. "Alright, I did as you asked. I brought you little me. Now you hold up your end." Ari smiled and nodded. "Of course my boy. But remember, if any of the Titans come sniffing around, just send them a rather permanent message." Ari put the baby Universe in a crib that had a clear dome over it. Then the adult Universe sat on a long table like chair. His face was perfectly still as Ari pulled out a needle. "This will triple your power's strength and help you deal with your emotions better." He promised. Universe smiled and the scientist injected him with the liquid.

[Raven Roth]

Raven had not been herself after what had happened...How could she be such an idot? Thinking Universe was the son she had always wanted....She stood alone on the roof top of the Tower.....With a dagger in he hands....Her son was gone...Her depression was really hitting her hard.....Vince smiled as he & Repa walked up on to the roof as part of their morning routines.....And saw out of the corner of his eye...the dagger pushing straight through his sisters heart!!!!

Vince: RAVEN!!!!!
Repa: RAVEN!!!!

They ran over to her...He caught his sister bfore Raven fell to the ground....He leaned her in his arms gently......

Raven: ((weaker)) V--ince...?
Vince: Oh Rae.....Come on honey stay with me....Hold on......

Matt rushed out behind them, hearing the screams. "Rae! No!" He dropped by her side, stroking her hair tenderly. "No Rae. Don't do this. Don't leave us. We can't lose you. Not now." Please Raven. I can't lose you. I need you.

Universe paced in Ari's lair. 'I want to do something." He snapped angrily. Ari hadn't let him leave the lair all week. Ari sighed. "Fine. Go rob a bank or something." He muttered. Universe rolled his eyes and teleported. But instead of landing in a bank, he could himself in the Titan's trophy room. "Crap...I missed." He muttered.

[Raven Roth]

Raven felt & heard Matt as Vince held her in his arms....She couldn't speak...she wanted to...but her voice was oing away...her pain was getting worse.....

Vine: Rae! If you die!!! I'll never talk to you again!!!!!
Repa: Vince....
Raven: ((Very weak)) I......can't......Matt....I....love....you.....

Vince looked surprisd & looked up at Matt.....

Matt scowled at Vince but said nothing. He would figure out how to explain it all later. But right now he needed Raven to live. "No Rae. You can't leave. Please don't." He didn't know what he could do. "Can't you heal her?" He snapped at Vince.

[Raven Roth]

Vince looked up at him with sad eyes.....As Raven shook her head no at her brother.....

Vince: She's not letting me.....

Tears fell from Vince's eyes....as he felt Raven take one more breath...Her body moved up in her chest area & finally back down again. Vince was still holding her.....Raven had blocked off all means of her life supports includding her own heart with her powers.....Tears fell from her face as she looked up at Matt one last time.....It took all the strength she had to grab his hand...that was laying on her stomach. Her life was gone......

Matt didn't move. His hand remained on hers. She wasn't moving. She was still. Dead. His mind whirled, unable to comprehend what had happened. "Raven? Raven? Raven?' He just kept repeating her name. What was he supposed to do now. She was dead. Gone. Forever.

((blah. Sorry Ms Raven. Brain dead.))

[Raven Roth]

All was silent. Even Vince. Repa just stood there if she was needed then she's be there. They all knew her son was taken from her. And that would make any mother go crazy, being without her child....,
"Raven....." Raven felt her mother's spirit.....

Raven: Where am I? Sparrow? Mom I'm scared......

She was in white clouds far from Earth.......
Arella appeared to her....

Arella: Raven.....You can't leave them.....Ari has your son. He needs to be stopped.
Raven: Mom....I'm weak....I can't fight...No matter how much I try....
Arella: Raven....They need you. Look.

Arella showed her Matt and Vince and Repa...All trying to bring Raven back.....
For some reason Matt couldn't hold himself any longer.....He was out of options...so as a good bye gift to her he placed a kiss on her lips.....As he did that he placed his hand on her heart...But some thing was happening....Her heart was beating.....

Matt chocked back a cry of relief. "She's alive," He exclaimed. Repeated the words as if he almost didn't believe them himself, the teen picked Raven up in his arms and cradled her against him. "Raven, oh Gods, Raven. Please don't let this be a trick. Come on Rae. Pull through. Come back to me. Raven."

[Raven Roth]

Raven was in completely shock. It hurt to be brought back....She cried too as he held her close. Vince smiled in relief as he saw what happened....He was too in disbelief as well...Repa had a big smile on her face and tears running down her face from what was going on......
"M...att.....I...love...you....." Was all she was able to say at that moment...her body was just getting back all it's energy.....She cried as hard he could hear her.....And feel the tears on his shoulder......

Matt grinned like a child as he hugged her close. "You're getting my shirt wet," he informed her through a horse . But he didn't move her away, he really couldn't care less. "Raven..." he whispered, the name itself enough to sum up the emotions whirling and plunging inside him.
